Bryce - Collierville, TN
Bryce is a sophomore at Auburn University in Auburn, AL majoring in aerospace engineering with the hopes of entering the astronautics field upon graduation. More specifically, he would like to contribute to the development of the propulsion technology needed to take humans to Mars. Bryce is a member of Auburn University’s Formula SAE team, Rocketry Association, and Honors College. He was a member of his high school’s prestigious soccer team for four years winning a state championship during his sophomore year. Bryce continues to stay active at college by frequently playing racquetball and running, and he placed second in a university-wide racquetball tournament as a freshman. In his free time, Bryce enjoys spending time with friends and family, attending Auburn athletic events, playing video games, and reading.
Megan - St. Louis, MO.
Megan graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology: Sports Medicine from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2016. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Science Degree in Athletic Training at Azusa Pacific University. She has an upcoming internship with the Arizona Diamondbacks and hopes to continue working with athletes at a professional level following graduation. Eventually, Megan would like to continue her education in pursuit of a Doctorate Degree, focusing on research involving CF and athletes. When not taking classes, Megan enjoys all things sports. Her favorite teams are the St. Louis Cardinals, the St. Louis Blues, and all USA Olympic teams. She is an avid runner and book reader and loves spending time with her friends and siblings.
Elizabeth - Montvale, NJ
Elizabeth is a junior at Mount Holyoke College majoring in economics and sociology with the goal of pursuing a career in finance or retail at a company with an emphasis on health and fitness. This career choice is largely influenced by the impact they have had in keeping her as healthy and active as possible. Always seeking new experiences and adventures, Elizabeth has recently sought out new modes of exercise (to her) including rowing, skiing, CrossFit, and spinning. In high school, she founded a Cystic Fibrosis Club, which she helmed for three years, and raised nearly $10,000 for Cystic Fibrosis research. She is an avid lover of the arts and, in particular, dance. Elizabeth has been dancing since the age of three and has continued to pursue her interest in dance in college, performing in three dance concerts. Elizabeth also enjoys traveling and is looking forward to studying abroad in Spring 2020.
Joy - Phoenix, AZ
Joy is a junior at Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University. She is majoring in mechanical engineering and hopes to design new renewable energy solutions when she graduates. For the past couple of years, she has been volunteering as a project lead for Engineers Without Borders, designing cost-efficient solar panel systems for homes without electricity within the Navajo Nation. She hopes to branch out from this project and start a non-profit benefiting more vulnerable communities including homeless populations, those with disabilities, and Native American communities. She wants to continue making the world a better place and to use her education to create things that enhance peoples’ lives, and she wouldn’t be able to do so without the help of the Elizabeth Nash Foundation.
Samantha - Pembroke, MA
Samantha is an incoming freshman at the University of South Carolina majoring in global studies focused on health disparities, with a minor in the French language. She desires to advocate for disadvantaged children around the world by expanding their access to medical treatments and education which will ultimately improve their health outcomes. She has led a cyclist team for the past 8 years in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Cycle for Life event, and collaborated with her CF center to speak with families of children with CF. Samantha wants to expand her role as a CF advocate and hopefully one day become a motivational speaker, to share what her CF illness has taught her and inspire others to pursue their dreams and goals, no matter their obstacles. She plans on attending law school and becoming an attorney, to further enhance her impact and role in changing medical laws and protections.
Riley – Cape Cod, MA
Riley is a rising sophomore at Bentley University in Waltham, MA. He plans to major in data analytics with a minor in either computer science or sports management in an effort to include his passion for math and sports in a career. In high school, Riley was involved with the football and lacrosse teams. He continues to be involved with athletics at Bentley University as he works with the Bentley football program as a team manager. He is hoping to find his first internship next summer working with the Cape Cod Baseball League. In his free time, Riley enjoys spending time with his family and friends, and exercising to help manage his health. He hopes he can continue to maintain his medical regime and status at school in the future.
Waco - Pikeville, Ky
Waco is a senior at Morehead State University in Morehead Kentucky. He is majoring in biomedical sciences and wants to pursue a career as a pharmacist. He is the current Executive Vice President of the Student Government Association at MSU and the recruitment chairman for his fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon. As one of the only students with CF at Morehead, Waco spends some of his time doing presentations on CF and helping his peers further understand the disease. In his free time he enjoys playing basketball, working out, and going to the lake with his friends.
Emily - Folsom, CA
Emily is a senior at the University of Notre Dame studying chemical engineering and Catholic social tradition. At school, she was her hall’s service commissioner for two years, is heavily involved in campus ministry, and ran the Holy Half marathon (very, very slowly). This year, she is a hall RA and is excited to spend her final year at ND in this role. After graduating, she is considering entering the pharmaceutical or renewable energy industries. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading all kinds of books, and has recently picked up the banjo. She has been involved in numerous research studies and is currently participating in a CF-muscle study at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She is also a proud Girl Scout Gold Award recipient; her project dealt with managing CF in college.
